Photo Walk Venice '27

Following a brilliant first group visit to Venice in March 2026, I'm excited to be hosting another creative weekend in the city of art and romance in 2027. Over 3 full days (4 nights) we'll spend time visiting the popular landmarks (Rialto, St. Mark's Square, The Doge's Palace, Bridge of Sighs etc.) but also wandering the quieter back streets and seeking out some incredible light along the canals & cobbled alleyways. Away from the main districts, we'll take a Vaporetto (water bus) ride to the wonderful 'rainbow island' of Burano - so called because of it's brightly coloured buildings - painted this way so fishermen could spot them in the lagoon fog.
Our 2027 visit gives the opportunity to fully immerse in the Venetian way of life - away from guided walks, there'll be some free time (a whole afternoon and evening on Saturday!) to enjoy the city's shops, galleries, museums, bars and restaurants. Group dinners are planned but are completely optional. As with all of my events, the atmosphere is welcoming, friendly and relaxed, I want you to have the best time in this incredible place and even when/if the group splits, I'll never be far away (always at the end of the phone) to assist with any queries.
The weekend is suitable for beginner and hobbyist photographers, influencers looking to visit some world famous attractions or creative folk simply looking to explore with a friendly group and experienced guide. Whether you're a solo traveller or joining as a couple, it'll be great to welcome you along.
You can bring whichever camera you feel comfortable using (smartphones are fine!) - there'll be themes provided and advice on composition/settings and modes throughout.

Booking Cost: £620 (€720) per person/single occupancy or £845 (€980) for double occupancy
Rooms can be secured with a £100 (€116) per person deposit (non refundable 14 days after payment)

Breakfast, lunch and evening meals aren't included, there is a supermarket close to the hotel for any food items/room snacks you might require.

About the hotel
StayCity Mestre is a short walk from Mestre Railway Station (drop off/boarding point for airport transfers) and a 15 minute bus/tram ride to Piazzale Roma, the gateway to Venice.
Accommodation is described as 'half apartment, half hotel' and rated highly on TripAdvisor (4.6 / 5)
Rooms are studio style apartments with comfortable king size double beds.
All have private bathrooms with showers and there are basic kitchen facilities - kettle, toaster, coffee machine, microwave and hobs etc.
There is a supermarket nearby for any food and snacks you might need during our stay.

The StayCity ApartHotel has been chosen for ratings and affordability, it's where we stayed in 2026 and a place I didn't hesitate to rebook. A basic but brilliant base to explore from. Please do take a look at the website and reviews before requesting a booking. As with all city breaks, the hotel location means that some external noise will be heard at all times of day. If this is likely to disturb your sleep, please don't forget your earplugs!
Additional expenses to consider before booking (NOT included in booking cost):
- Transport to/from your departure/return airport - Please wait for booking confirmation BEFORE booking your flight & making travel plans
- Flights to and from Venice (Marco Polo airport is recommended as closest) - full directions will be provided for your arrival and meeting up.
- Food and Drink - Each studio apartment has basic kitchen facilities and there is a supermarket very close by. There is also a cafe at the Aparthotel that serves breakfast for an additional fee (around 15 euros). While we are out and about we will break for lunch with the option of evening meals together as a group.
- Gondola Rides or Private River Taxis
- Entry to museums, galleries or attractions - you may wish to book these closer to the time once our itinerary & free time periods are finalised.
- Travel Insurance - please ensure you have travel and gadget insurance to suit your requirements - as with all photo walk events, attendance is at your own risk. Although we're visiting in the spring when it'll be quieter, Venice and Burano are very busy places.
- A free GHIC (Global Health Insurance Card) is recommended for trips abroad (UK residents). Cardholders can receive necessary state healthcare on the same basis as a resident of the country being visited. The card is free to apply for through the UK NHS website. While good to have, the card is not a substitute for Travel Insurance or the benefits of private healthcare that insurance will cover.
- Mobile Roaming Charges. Please check with your network provider, roaming add-ons are usually available for a set number of days
- While the itinerary is still to be finalised, there maybe a half day (Monday) where you will need to tap to pay for transport into & in Venice

To Book
To request a booking, please email with the name/s of those who'd like to attend, the address of the lead booker and please also let me know whether you'd like to pay a deposit or full balance amount.
I'll reply within 3 working days to confirm availability and provide an invoice for payment, this is payable by return to confirm your space/room. There is a minimum requirement of 2 room bookings for the weekend to go ahead. If you're the first to request a booking, your deposit invoice will not be sent until a second booking request is received.
Please do not book flights or make travel arrangements until your place has been confirmed.
Bookings are secured with a £100 (per person) deposit. Deposits become non refundable after 14 days. Full balance is then due 28 days before our trip. If paying a deposit, a separate invoice will be provided with final balance due and due date.
After booking, you'll be given an option to join the Photo Walk Venice WhatsApp group - an opportunity to introduce yourself to other guests and keep updated both before and during our time in Italy. Please note that your mobile number will be visible to others and while it's recommended to join, this is completely optional.
